Hannah DeHerrera is a Licensed Social Worker with a degree from the University of Illinois – Chicago. She focuses on person-centered therapy with an emphasis in cognitive behavioral therapy and radical acceptance. She is most passionate about helping teenagers and young adults creatively navigate identity, LGBTQ+ issues, neurodivergence, relational issues, and coping with mental illness. She has experience with methods from various modalities including art therapy, somatic therapy, DBT, and mindfulness, and lets each person dictate which methods work best for them.
She has training concerning the complicated nature of being a minority in the United States, including studying Critical Race Theory, Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, and diving into the complications of having a disability. She also has experience navigating various life stressors and traumas including homelessness, divorce, coming out, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, abuse, grief, and anger.
