I work with clients who identify as LGBTQ+ and those who have experienced trauma, focusing on the unique challenges they face in navigating their identities and life experiences. Many of my clients struggle with the profound effects of systemic oppression, including discrimination and marginalization, which can significantly impact their mental health. Additionally, attachment styles often arise, whether due to early childhood experiences, family dynamics, or strained interpersonal relationships. These challenges can leave my clients feeling disconnected from themselves and others. My role is to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space that honors each person’s lived experiences and supports their journey toward healing and self-empowerment.
I take a relational, anti-oppressive approach to therapy, which means I view the therapeutic relationship as a powerful tool for growth. I recognize that power dynamics and societal systems influence both the client’s experience and the therapeutic process. By integrating person-centered, strengths-based approaches, I empower clients to reclaim their agency and find meaning in their stories. Drawing from trauma-informed care, relational therapy, and intersectional feminist frameworks, I collaborate with clients to explore the complexities of their experiences and identities. The goal is to foster healing and self-awareness, helping clients navigate the world with resilience and authenticity. I aim to not only support them in processing past trauma but also to equip them with the tools to thrive in a society that often marginalizes them. Through this holistic approach, I guide clients in embracing their true selves and finding connection in a world that often feels unwelcoming.
