Dr. Merritt is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides highly individualized therapy and comprehensive psychological evaluations for teens, adults, and high-functioning individuals seeking greater clarity, performance, and psychological insight. Dr. Merrit is also particularly dedicated to creating a safe space for ALL clients. She is a proud supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and is dedicated to upholding a Transgender Safe Space.
Dr. Merritt has extensive experience working with individuals across a wide range of settings and complex clinical presentations. She has spent most of her career in public service. She is also an educator and clinical supervisor who has spent many years leading a team of diagnostic experts for the State of Colorado. This breadth of experience informs her ability to quickly identify core patterns, differentiate between overlapping concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, trauma, burnout, and mood-related symptoms, and provide nuanced, individualized recommendations that are both practical and effective.
Dr. Merritt’s therapeutic approach is humanistic, integrative, and collaborative. She draws from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed interventions, biofeedback, and others. This flexible approach allows her to address both the cognitive and physiological dimensions of distress while tailoring treatment to the unique goals, values, and demands of each client.
Dr. Merritt has worked in the mental health field since graduating from Colorado College in 2006. She earned her Master’s degree in 2013 and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2018. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her partner and children. She loves puzzles, plants, and playing in the mountains.
