I believe that finding the right therapist to assist you in your journey is often like finding a pair of shoes that has the right fit. This process can be arduous and can deter people from pursuing counseling. A key part of my clinical practice is to build rapport with my clients to assist them with feeling comfortable sharing what can be painful topics and issues. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most influential factors in assisting individuals to be successful in therapy and reach their goals. I especially enjoy working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community as I identify as an LGBTQIA2S+ individual myself.
I have over 15 years of experience as a clinician. In addition to excellent rapport building skills, I utilize a combination of several therapeutic orientations including systems theory, queer/feminist theory, person-centered, CBT, DBT, trauma-focused, somatic-based, and mindfulness-based techniques. I also provide CBT for insomnia (CBT-I).
