Queering Skills: Upcycle City

August 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This month’s Queering Skills Workshop is designed and centered around the practice of upcycling! Upcycling is the art and practice of taking products and items that you may not be able to use or may not like in it’s original form and turning it into a one of a kind, unique, and usable item for you!

For our Queering Skills workshop we will focus on upcycling clothing! Have old clothes in your wardrobe you want to upcycle? This month, we will by cutting, bedazzling, combining, or morphing articles of clothing to give you that unique style you’ve been looking for! Come to Prism on August 28th from 5pm – 7pm to learn the art of upcycling clothing with us!

Please bring items you would like to alter or don’t mind swapping with others to alter! We are focusing on clothes and accessories this round!

New to Prism? Here’s what to expect:

  • Our doors are always locked for security purposes. We have an intercom at the door as first point of contact. Simply call “front office” from the touch screen.
  • Weapons are not allowed in space.
  • There is a preliminary security check at the door
  • We have an intake form we ask all new folks to fill out. Try to arrive a few minutes early to fill that out.
