Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke is a dark epistolary horror novella told entirely through emails and instant messages set in the year 2000.

- Violence and Gore: Graphic blood, mutilation, and body horror (including the use of an apple peeler).
- Abuse: Emotional manipulation, financial abuse, and a toxic, abusive BDSM/dominant-submissive relationship.

- Self-Harm and Suicide: Suicidal ideation, attempted suicide, and graphic self-harm.
