Life is messy and turbulent. Sometimes we can’t find the right words to express our inner experiences. I utilize experiential and developmentally appropriate interventions to join clients in navigating the storms until we reach steady waters and clearer skies. Through art making and play, we process what we may not have the vocabulary to discuss yet. I am a registered art therapist through the national Art Therapy Credentials Board. Through the creative process, art imitates life and we learn about ourselves and how to manage overwhelming feelings. Art responses can lead to powerful and meaningful reflections on relational and thought patterns, past experiences, and self awareness. I am comfortable being the captain when needed with the goal of stepping down to support you in taking leadership over your life. We can work together to clean the storm debris that’s hiding your core self and learn to accept and better prepare for life’s weather. I am an ally in the LGBTQ+ community and provide affirming care for individuals and families in this community in on various areas, such exploration and expression of identity, self advocacy, and setting healthy boundaries. My current areas of specialty are art therapy and supporting children and teens as they process trauma. I have experience working with neurodiverse children and teens on improving executive functioning skills. My current work with adults focuses on processing and exploring life stressors through both talk and art therapy while building skills to manage them.
