I became a therapist because I believe that every person is worthy of a life lived fully as themselves. Life experiences often get in the way of feeling our best, but healing is possible when we have a safe place to process those experiences. I strive to be that safe place for every person who enters my office. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I offer EMDR, a type of therapy that has proven effective for processing various types of trauma. Though I work with all ages 12 and up, I specialize in working with teens. As a former teen who didn’t share emotions with adults, I hold a deep value in relationship building in hopes that even the most hesitant of teens gains an adult with whom to discuss life. Teen years are tough, but having a safe place to process in those years can be life changing. Studies show that the biggest predictor of success in therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. While I can’t guarantee that I’m the right therapist for you, I offer a free 30 minute consultation so that you can check out Fernwood Counseling for yourself. Wherever you are in life’s journey, I’d be honored to journey with you.
